The LRT-1 is no stranger to decking out their trains. In the past, they have launched themed trains for Valentine's Day and Christmas, much to the delight of passengers. Now, they're repeating the gimmick for a special cause: The Light Rail Manila Corporation and the PLDT Smart Corporation launched the Gabay Guro Train on September 5.
The themed train, which will run for a year, features library and school-themed details such as handrail poles designed to look like crayons, printed graduation caps on train windows, and inspirational quotes on education on different parts of the train.

According to Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) president and CEO Juan Alfonso, the Gabay Guro Train is part of an initiative to promote reading and the love of books outside of the four walls of the classroom. It aims to raise awareness on the significance of education for students to achieve success.
Commuters can also read about interesting trivia on the handrails.
