Mystic Point, the final chapter of Hong Kong Disneyland’s first expansion project, will be unveiled to the public on Friday, May 17, 2013.
This one-of-a-kind themed area is comprised of the Garden of Wonders, which displays unique ancient sculptures and 3D mosaics; the Mystic Point Freight Depot, where guests can take a closer look at artifacts from different historical backgrounds; The Archive Shop, where over 140 types of merchandise are available for sale; the Explorer’s Club Restaurant, and the Mystic Manor.
Originally designed as a Victorian mansion, the Mystic Manor follows the original story of Lord Henry, an eccentric explorer and adventurer who has an extensive collection of over 7,000 fine art, antiquities, artifacts and even some oddities from around the world. When his companion monkey mischievously opens a newly-acquired magical music box releasing the enchanted Music Dust, a mysterious journey begins.
With eight highlights including a Solarium, Mediterranean Antiquities, Tribal Arts, and a Slavic-Nordic Chamber, the Mystic Manor makes use of new state-of-the-art 4K HD cinema projectors to create 40 types of special visual effects, and features a soundtrack composed by the Grammy-winning, Emmy-wiinning and Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman to complete the experience. Its Mystic Magneto-Electric Carriage is one of the most sophisticated rides ever built by Disney.
