Regine Angeles Recounts Struggling With Low Breast Milk Supply

Many moms will be able to relate to the struggles of first-time mom Regine Angeles, who today revealed the pain she felt when her then-newborn suffered from dehydration.

Regine gave birth in October 2017 to son Viktor Alesso, her first child, more than a year after she married fellow model Van Victor Leano. Regine became famous for winning the Be Bench / The Model Search of ABS-CBN. 

In her Instagram post, Regine recounted an incident that had her crying "iyak [na] pang teleserye." She said, "Alesso was dehydrated when he was only 2 weeks old. There were red-orangey like crystals inside his diaper. A sign of dehydration. Turns out i wasn't producing enough milk."

She continued, "His weight dropped. I was crying. Imagine the horror of being a first time mom and knowing that you're not providing enough for the needs of your child."

Thankfully, there were kind souls who got her through the ordeal. With the help of a milk donor and after taking some supplements, her milk supply went up and became enough to sustain Alesso.

Incidentally, Regine and Van Victor, who are both members of the Iglesia ni Cristo, are celebrating their second wedding anniversary today.
