Getting pregnant is a blessing, but it comes with body changes that can be a little overwhelming especially in the fashion department. When you’re in the third trimester and you can’t reach your ankles to put on your underwear, you want to feel really good in the clothes you wear.
So we asked some celebrity moms and moms-to-be how they managed to dress stylishly and comfortably while they were pregnant. Here’s what they shared with us.
1. “I love the maternity clothes!” -- Fille Cainglet Cayetano
The former pro voleeyball player particularly love H&M maternity pants. “I just re-used some of my maternity clothes [I wore when I was pregnant with] my first baby. Happy that we have more brands now that has a maternity selection in their stores,” the mom of two added.
2. “I didn't buy one piece of maternity clothing!” -- Samantha Godinez Valenciano
The better half of Gary Valenciano’s son Paolo explains. “I didn't know what to buy and I have a lot of loose normal clothes to begin with. So during this whole pregnancy, I'd wear leggings, a sports bra, my Nikes and a loose top. When I started getting bigger, I wore tighter tops under jackets and cover ups.” She says she always goes for seamless types for underwear, so it doesn’t show when she wears tight-fitting clothes.
3. “I always use my husband's cut-offs or shirt.” -- Erika Reyes a.k.a. DJ Rikiflo
The Magic 88.9 radio host actually wears her husband’s shirts because they’re nice and loose. “But when I go out, definitely Elin (maternity wear), Harlan and Holden and maternity tank tops from Old Navy,” she says. She is also a big fan of scarves and recommends Seve's Mom as they convert to nursing wear. For footwear, she goes for sneakers “despite the trouble of tying them.” Her two cents: “I learned that just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean you have to change your style completely.”
Leggings is this new mom’s ultimate pregnancy style essential. “The maternity leggings from Old Navy and Blanqi from Urban Essentials are super comfy, I bought so many in different colors,” Michela says. “Blanqi tank tops also very comfy and look very good [for going] out." For sleepwear, she likes soft hugging shirts and shorts, while she swears by Spanx for her underwear.

“I definitely am not a ‘maternity wearing’ person,” the mom of three says, “but if there was one maternity piece I would swear by, it’s Blanqi of Urban Essentials. I had it in black, white, and gray. It’s like Spanx for preggos!” She mostly went for stretchy skirts and form-fitting dresses from Zara, Mango, BCBG, and even Cotton On. “I just wore lace thongs to avoid muffin tops and love handles! Wearing pretty underwear makes a lot of difference, preggy or not!” she stresses.
6. “I was partial to cotton when I was pregnant. -- Princess Velasco
Because her third trimester was during the summer months, stretchable cotton tank dresses were Princess' staples as other fabrics made her itchy and sweaty. Princess also had affordable finds from the tiangges. Her going-out preggy OOTDs consist of loose fitting or long polos with jeggings or jeans--with the help of the Belly Belt jeans expander. When staying home, she’s usually wears her husband’s cotton t-shirts home. “I never really bought any 'maternity' clothes, I pretty much brought out all my loose fitting clothes and just bought a few dresses,” she says.
