It's been three months since actress LJ Reyes gave birth to her second child, Summer Ayana, and over the weekend, she and partner Paolo Contis celebrated this milestone by having her baptized in a dedication ceremony. It was one of the rare times in the last few months that LJ dressed and glammed up.
"Simula nung nag-leave ako sa work at ipinanganak ko si Summer, mangilan-ngilan lang yung beses na nakapag-ayos ako ng sarili ng ganito," LJ wrote on Instagram. The mompreneur behind Wonder Jane travel kit and the smart mommy app called MApp shared that she enjoys and treasures time she spends with her daughter. Time goes by fast, and she doesn't want to miss out on her baby's milestones.
LJ admitted that having her hair and makeup done for the first time in a long time felt like 'me-time.'
"A lot of mommies feel the 'mom-guilt' 'pag binibigyan natin ng oras and care ang sarili natin. It’s definitely a struggle!" she said. "It never goes away. Parang you just learn to live with it dahil importante rin naman yun para buo tayo at masaya!" the actress stressed.

"Sa totoo lang, I would always give up 'me time' para kay Summer at Aki," the mom of two said. "I would give up anything for them!" she declared. One tiny but definitive proof of that, as LJ pointed out, is that her glam shot in her makeup artist's portfolio included Summer and her lampin. "Saludo talaga ako sa mga nanay!" she added.
Just about a month after giving birth, LJ had her hair cut pixie-style short, one thing she had always wanted but scared to do. "Having a schooling kid and a newborn, I thought to myself, why not now? It's conveniently wash-and-wear (hairstyle)!" she said. Her new 'do has a longer front part, so there's room for styling, though LJ said she wants it shorter next time.
"Pag nanay ka, kelangan mong gumawa ng paraan para lahat ng kelangan mong gawin, magawa mo. Kasi minsan iisa ang katawan mo pero ang daming demands na hihilingin mo, sana marami kang katawan," LJ wrote on Instagram. Having an easy-to-wash-and-style hair is a time-saver so she can spend more time caring for her kids.

The actress is grateful for having help at home, but there are some things that she wants to personally do for her kids. "Kaya eto kelangan kong gumawa ng paraan para makakilos," LJ said about babywearing Summer, just like she did with her now-8-year-old son Aki when he was still a baby.
LJ shared how grateful they are for family and friends who celebrated with them at Summer's dedication, saying she was reminded of her purpose in life. "I am beyond joyful and grateful that part of it is to become Aki and Summer’s mother," she said.
"I was never, am not, and never will be perfect. But I will do my very best, with all that I am, to be my children’s best mother," LJ stressed. "I will raise them to be people of faith and [with a] good heart," she said, acknowledging that it's sometimes overwhelming being a mom, and that's where prayer helps her a lot.
