Thinking back on all the fun you've had during family vacations often gets you through more stressful times, and acts as "happiness anchors." While it can be challenging, tagging your kids along during your travels is one of the best gifts you can give them. Aside from the bonding time you're going to have together, you're also opening a door for them to explore and unlock their curiosity about the world.

If you're looking for a destination with attractions both you and your kids will enjoy and appreciate, look no further than Resorts World Sentosa Singapore. A three-and-half-hour flight from the Philippines, Singapore has always been a favorite family vacation destination.

Here are seven unique reasons Resorts World Sentosa Singapore is the place to be for families:

    1. Cool off, play, and splash the day away.

Everyone in the family can choose their own water activity at Adventure Cove Waterpark—whatever floats your boat!

Does mom fancy a little R&R just floating away through Adventure River? Or would dad like to get his heart pumping in the hydro-magnetic coaster Riptide Rocket? Even the kids will have tons of fun at the Big Bucket Treehouse with interactive water play elements!

If the whole family is up for even more adventure, why not get up close and personal with fishes, rays, and even sharks? Snorkel among thousands of fish and colorful corals at Rainbow Reef, or touch the velvety wings of the friendly rays at Ray Bay*, or watch in awe the sharks from the safety of a customized acrylic enclosure at Shark Encounter*.

Family photo tip: Take a family selfie while floating on individual swim rings in Adventure River.

*Separate charges apply for these immersive experiences, and limited slots are available.

    2. Rest and relax in comfort and style with the whole family.

There are six uniquely themed hotels at Resorts World Sentosa Singapore. From the vibrant and family-friendly Festive Hotel to the hip and trendy Hard Rock Hotel, their fabulous locations put you just minutes away from the world-class attractions—Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark—and all-day dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Family photo tip: Is it really a resort vacation without an obligatory "wefie" by the pool? Take a pic with the whole family at your chosen hotel's swimming pool.

    3. Go under the sea without getting even a little bit wet.

Be amazed by more than 100,000 marine animals of over a thousand species across 50 different habitats at the S.E.A. Aquarium.

Don't miss out on the aquarium's underwater tunnel Shark Seas, which will give you and the kids a 360-degree view of… sharks! Everyone will have a wondrous time checking out the shark rays and eagle rays at the Shipwreck Habitat, and learning about S.E.A. Aquarium's successful shark ray breeding program. You and your husband may even have a fun time marveling at the colorful reef world of the Coral Garden.

Family photo tip: Pose for a few photos at S.E.A. Aquarium's Open Ocean Habitat—your silhouettes will look amazing against the large floor-to-ceiling aquarium with all sorts of marine life swimming behind you.

    4. Have a 'snowy' Christmas with your family's favorite movie characters.

You and your kids would've had fun joining Universal Studios Singapore’s holiday festivities at A Universal Christmas running through January 1, 2020.

Snowfall in the tropics? You could immerse yourself and your family in a “snowfall” with your kiddos’ favorite movie characters. Mingle with the Sesame Street gang, the animals from Madagascar, and Gru, Lucy, the girls, and the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me films, all decked out in their festive gear.

Family photo tip: Don’t forget to mark your visit with a family photo in front of the iconic Universal Globe by the park entrance.

    5. Get a thrill riding exciting park rides.

Watch ate and kuya as they scream their lungs out riding Universal Studios Singapore’s Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon—dueling roller coasters that circle and loop around each other. For the little bunso, he or she can join Elmo and Super Grover 2.0 in the world’s first Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase.

Aside from experiencing the world-class rides and attractions at the theme park, Christmas-themed shows also awaited families last month. One show not to be missed was The Great Christmas Invention, starring the jolly ol' man himself. This was no ordinary Christmas show as the story was told via animated projection mapping.

A Universal Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore ran through January 1, 2020. Park hours were extended until 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on some nights.

    6. Turn fun into learning experiences.

Last holiday season, S.E.A. Aquarium mounted special exhibits where children and adults could know more about the issues that affect the marine ecosystem. Kids learned how to join the fight against climate change through creative and original installations by street artists at the Glowing Ocean event until January 1, 2020.

Included here were interactive exhibits such as The Hidden Truth where guests could uncover hidden messages on an interactive mural by doodling group Band of Doodlers, and Beautiful Warning Signs, a light-art installation by Milan-based art and design duo Carnovsky and Singapore’s Kult Studio & Gallery, about the harmful truth behind the pretty glow of planktons and algae.

    7. Eat Noche Buena treats all day, every day.

Families didn't need to wait for the clock to strike at midnight on Christmas Eve to enjoy a holiday feast. Sumptuous Noche Buena spreads awaited families at Resorts World Sentosa Singapore. It was a chance to introduce your kids to a variety of cuisines and give their taste buds a gastronomic treat across 10 dining establishments in the island-resort.

Families indulged in the eight-course Christmas and New Year dinner menu at the newly crowned Michelin-starred table65 and enjoyed the stunning view of the mesmerizing marine world while savoring exquisite creations at Ocean Restaurant.

Family photo tip: This one is for you and the hubby! Take an IG-worthy toast to celebrate your family vacation with your Berry Mary cocktails at The Rock Bar.
