The thought of stepping inside a bookstore a few weeks before the new school year begins is sure to make any parent shudder. They know it’s a tough battle ahead, trying to squeeze between other harried parents completing their children’s back-to-school list. But here’s a piece of good news: If you’re headed out this weekend, you can get your shopping done at National Book Store’s (NBS) Grand Back-to-School Fair, happening on today until tomorrow, May 26, 2019 at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center in Makati.
What to expect for your back-to-school shopping experience
We checked out the fair on its opening day yesterday, Friday, May 24 and there are plenty of compelling reasons it’s worth a visit.

1. They have a comprehensive list of participating brands.
From Adventurer, Crocodile Creek, Disney, Dong-A, Faber-Castell, Ooly, Pilot, Titus, Tombow, Uni, and many more, the fair offers a variety of school supplies for children in different grade levels.
2. They have promos and freebies.
All of NBS’ special offers for the back-to-school season is available, including a backpack that you can get for only Php100 or a lunch bag for P75 when you present a P300 single-receipt transaction. You can also get a Php100 NBS gift card for free when you spend Php3,000 on a single receipt. They'll also be raffling off up to Php90,000 of school supplies and NBS gift cards!
One of the cons of visiting bookstores during back-to-school season is that you have to rummage through piles of supplies before you find what you need. The struggle is real! At the fair, everything’s neatly arranged and categorized so you just have to choose what’s on your list and place it on your cart.

These include bestsellers and new items. They also have Backpack to School (complete with basic supplies) for Grades 1 to 3 for Php345 and Grades 4 to 6 for Php445.
5. It’s a one-stop shop.
We’ve all had to go to several branches to complete our school supply list, but almost everything you need is at the fair. To make shopping easier, take note of the different zones: The red zone is for convenience, with essential supplies as well as packs and bundles. The blue zone is for quality, with top brands from all categories on display. The green zone is for value for money, with items and deals that will a budget-conscious shopper happy.
